Installation of Outlet Frame Assemblies at Port Hope Conversion Facility - Continuation of Work
Two new storm sewer outlets, Outlet 2 and Outlet 3, are planned for completion at the Port Hope harbour approach channel in support of Cameco Corporation (Cameco) Vision in Motion project storm sewer works upgrades. The in-water works are specific to the installation of two outlet frame assemblies onto the existing sheet pile wall and pipe piles.
The outlet frame assemblies include pipe stubs capped with blind flanges, which will allow for sheet pile wall penetrations to be completed from land, within an enclosure, at a later date. The rock revetment that is in place along the approach channel wall will abut the bottom of the outlet frame assemblies. Though the outlet piping will extend beyond the outer edge of the existing sheet pile corrugation, the outlet frame assembly components will be within the footprint of the existing revetment and will not interfere with harbour navigation.
Outlet 3 work remains to be completed and the timing window for the in-water works has been extended to September 25 in support. Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) contractors are completing the work on behalf of Cameco within the harbour work area currently controlled by CNL.
A submission has been added to the on-line Common Project Search registry (http://cps.canada.ca) pursuant to the Canadian Navigable Waters Act. Reference is made to registry number 15756.
