Cameco Fund for Mental Health 2025 awards grants to Four Blind River organizations

The Cameco Fund for Mental Health has awarded $21,000 to support four qualifying mental health initiatives in Blind River. This year’s grants will benefit students, families, and the caregivers of infants and toddlers.

In May, Cameco held its 4th annual Blind River Refinery Cameco Charity Golf Tournament, raising $25,000 with a sold-out tournament and generous sponsorship at the Huron Pines Golf and Country Club.

Since its inception in 2022, the Cameco Fund for Mental Health has granted $71,000 including this year’s funds.

“In a small community, mental health isn’t just an individual concern—it’s a collective responsibility,” said Terry Davis, general manager of Cameco’s Blind River Refinery. “Supporting mental health initiatives strengthens our connections, builds resilience, and helps to ensure that no one faces their struggles alone.”

Following a call for funding applications in October, submissions were adjudicated in November by a panel of representatives from Cameco, local mental health experts and the Saskatoon Community Foundation, which is the administrator for the grants.

The 2025 Cameco Fund for Mental Health recipients are:

  • École secondaire catholique Jeunesse-Nord
  • Huron Shores Family Health Team
  • St. Mary’s Catholic School
  • W.C. Eaket Secondary School
