Positive COVID-19 Case at Cameco Fuel Manufacturing

November 19, 2020

On November 19, we became aware that a Cameco employee from Cameco Fuel Manufacturing in Port Hope has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee was last at work on November 16, 2020. Upon experiencing symptoms on November 17, this employee followed all protocols and did not enter the workplace with symptoms.

Cleaning and disinfection protocols established in the event of a suspected positive COVID-19 case were quickly carried out as soon as we became aware of the symptomatic employee on November 17. According to our initial investigation, all safety protocols were followed, and no other employees were exposed through close contact while at work.

Cameco is working closely with our company medical team and will work with the relevant health authorities as we move forward.

Cameco Fuel Manufacturing, along with all our operations, continues to operate safely. Since the beginning of the pandemic we have developed and implemented a significant complement of proactive measures to help minimize the potential risk of exposure and transmission of COVID-19.

We are supporting our employee to ensure they have the resources they need during this difficult time.
