Cameco announces $19,000 for local mental health initiatives

(Blind River, Ontario, Canada – October 10, 2023) – Organizations working on mental health initiatives in the Blind River area are invited to apply to the Cameco Fund for Mental Health starting today.

The second annual Blind River Refinery Cameco Charity Golf Tournament raised $17,000 for the Cameco Fund for Mental Health. This amount, along with donations, brings the total fund to $19,000.

“We have an amazing community that came together with us to raise these funds,” said Terry Davis, general manager of Cameco’s Blind River Refinery. “And we know these funds will go on to help support the important work being done by local organizations to address mental health needs through services and programming.”

The Cameco Fund for Mental Health is established through the Saskatoon Community Foundation. Applications for funding will be adjudicated by a panel that includes local mental health professionals and representatives from Cameco. The grant program is open to registered charities, non-profits, and organized groups. The deadline for online applications is 5 p.m. on November 2, 2023.
