In the Community
The community of Blind River, Ontario is situated on Lake Huron’s North Channel at the mouth of the Blind River and the Mississauga River. A vibrant and active community of about 3,500 people, Blind River is known for its rich history, numerous festivals and engaged citizens.
As members of this energetic community, Cameco and our employees are engaged partners and actively contribute to a variety of community activities.
Some of the ways we make a difference in our community:
Employees at Cameco’s Blind River Refinery are no strangers to giving. Fourteen years in a row, they've been raising thousands of dollars for local charities. Charities present their project and are chosen based on the theme of "making a difference".
Residents of the Algoma Manor in Thessalon held a celebration when the van arrived and invited some Cameco employees to show their appreciation.
