In the Community
The community of Blind River, Ontario is situated on Lake Huron’s North Channel at the mouth of the Blind River and the Mississauga River. A vibrant and active community of about 3,500 people, Blind River is known for its rich history, numerous festivals and engaged citizens.
As members of this energetic community, Cameco and our employees are engaged partners and actively contribute to a variety of community activities.
Some of the ways we make a difference in our community:
-
97% of local residents support Cameco’s continued operations in Blind River
“We are very proud of these results as they positively reflect the efforts we make to build and keep strong community connections in Blind River,” said Chris Astles, general manager of Cameco’s Blind River refinery.
