Port Hope Conversion Facility Positive Case

April 16, 2021

We were informed last night that an employee from our Port Hope Conversion Facility (PHCF) tested positive for COVID-19. We are providing the necessary support to ensure they have the resources they need during this difficult time and wish them a good recovery.

This individual was last in the facility on Friday, April 9 and followed all COVID-19 protocols while at work, including wearing a mask. Contact tracing has determined that there were no high-risk contacts, and this case is not connected to the positive case identified at PHCF on April 12. Out of an abundance of caution and consistent with our response to the current pandemic situation - which is marked by an increase of variant cases - we have identified 19 employees who will be tested for COVID-19. There is no impact to operations.

The health and safety of all our employees remains our top priority. We are working with our company medical team and public health authorities and continue to follow their guidance.
