Temporary Flood Protection System Installed at Port Hope Conversion Facility

Due to the higher than average water levels in Lake Ontario, Cameco has installed approximately 2,300 feet of temporary perimeter barrier flood protection around the east fence line of its Port Hope Conversion Facility. These flood protection systems are reusable and have no environmental impact. Cameco continues to monitor areas along its facility’s waterfront. These temporary dams will remain in place until water levels recede.
