Port Hope Community Forum Scheduled for May 27, 2013

May 8, 2013

Cameco's next community liaison forum is scheduled for Monday, May 27 from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Carpenter's Union Hall, 459 Croft Street in Port Hope. This is the 23rd forum hosted by Cameco since the process began in May 2006.

Communicating with the public is the main topic of the forum. Our guest speakers will be Timothea Gibb, director of the public affairs and media relations division of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC), and Aimee Rupert, senior communications specialist with the CNSC. Timothea and Aimee will provide an overview of the CNSC's efforts to engage and communicate with Canadians about the role it plays in regulating nuclear facilities as well as discuss the CNSC's expectations for public information and disclosure by the facilities it licenses.

The evening will begin with an update on Cameco's local operations by Dale Clark, vice-president of the company's fuel services division. Dale was appointed to this position in March 2013. Forum participants will have the opportunity to present both oral and written questions to Dale and our guest speakers.

If you wish to attend the forum, please RSVP to Diana Flesch at (905) 885-1129 ext. 4008, or by email at Diana_Flesch@cameco.com.
