Cameco Recognized as Top Employer Six Years Running

November 4, 2014

For the sixth consecutive year, Cameco has been named one of Canada's Top 100 Employers in a national competition organized by Mediacorp Canada Inc. and published in The Globe and Mail.

The annual competition recognizes Canadian companies and organizations that lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces for their employees.

"We are thrilled to be recognized as a top Canadian employer once again," said Cameco president and CEO Tim Gitzel. "We work hard to recruit the best employees and know that top candidates take this designation seriously."

This year 35,000 organizations and companies were invited to submit detailed applications outlining their HR practices. Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.

"We encourage candidates to 'Come live our values' and see for themselves how we strive for excellence in all aspects of our business and get involved in our communities," said Gitzel. "Cameco's workforce includes numerous examples of generations of family members working side by side. It sends a strong message about our company and workplace when our employees recommend the company to their children and relatives."
