Cameco Appreciative of Strong Public Support from Port Hope Residents

The results of the 2014 community poll indicate that Cameco continues to have a firm foundation of public support among the majority of Port Hope residents; 84% of residents are supportive of Cameco continuing to operate in Port Hope and the majority is strongly supportive. Among the other key findings:

  • 89% agree that Port Hope is a safe and healthy place to live
  • 83% agree that Cameco does everything possible to protect people and the environment
  • 81% agree that Cameco makes information about its local operations readily available to Port Hope residents
  • 70% recall receiving a copy of a newsletter from Cameco and 86% of those who recall receiving the newsletter indicated that they had read it
